Why I built ATS Pass
For the past seven years I’ve been a hiring manager in big tech, and in that time I’ve hired more than 100 people. I know what it takes to get from an application to an offer, and I’ve seen how often good candidates fall at the very first hurdle: a Resume a person would have liked, filtered out before anyone read it.
Getting a job today is hard. Applications disappear into a black box, feedback rarely comes back, and many of the tools that promise to help want your Resume, your details and your money before they tell you anything.
I built ATS Pass to give that insight back, for free and without asking you to give up your privacy. Upload your Resume, see what an applicant tracking system sees and what a hiring manager would notice, and take that into your next application. There’s no sign-up, and your Resume is analyzed and then discarded. It is never stored.
Why a Daruma?
The Daruma in our logo comes from a trip my wife and I took to Japan for the Tokyo Marathon. I came across the little doll at a market. The stallholder explained how it works: a Daruma comes with blank eyes. You fill in one eye when you commit to a goal, and the other when you achieve it.
It stayed with me, because that is exactly what a job search feels like. You commit, you keep going through the rejections and the silence, and one day you get to fill in the second eye.
So the Daruma became our mascot: a reminder of the goal, and a cute one at that. I hope ATS Pass helps you get to that second eye.
What makes ATS Pass different
Plenty of job-search tools promise to game the system. ATS Pass is built on the opposite idea: the way through is an honest Resume that works for the software and for the person who reads it next.
No mass applications
We won’t fire your Resume at hundreds of jobs. Hiring managers can tell when an application wasn’t written for their role, and one well-targeted application beats fifty generic ones.
No copying the job description
We don’t paste the job description into your Resume or stuff it with keywords you can’t back up. We only flag keywords the job description actually uses, and our rewrites never invent experience. They sharpen what you’ve really done, in your own voice.
Your data stays yours
Your Resume is analyzed and then discarded, never kept on our servers. Your results and saved versions live in your browser’s local storage, on your own device. Beyond the AI model that runs the analysis, your Resume goes nowhere, and it is never sold.

Technology
atspass.com uses a two-stage AI pipeline. The first stage rapidly evaluates keyword alignment, formatting, and structure against ATS heuristics. The second stage performs deeper semantic analysis, comparing the meaning and context of your experience against the job requirements to surface nuanced improvements that keyword matching alone would miss.
